How did that happen? I mean, I just watched the pilot, and I really really enjoyed it. An interesting, but totally insane mythology, dropping tons of interesting mythology on you in the pilot, characters who seem likable, and who seem to act somewhat intelligently... I'm already ready to start calling this "the show that Grimm should have been."

I feel like in the hands of lesser creators they would have had this episode consist of Ichabod wandering around Sleepy Hollow, being all "WOAH, FORSOOTH, WHAT BE-ITH THIS METAL MONSTROSITY?!" for an hour, and then ended with a glimpse of the headless horseman. Instead, this was like, NOPE, HERE'S A TON OF AWESOME STUFF.

Yeah. A very pleasant surprise.
