As pointed out by ANNATHEMA_EST in six word stories, "A battle between gods." I've thought about this for quite a while. One machine good, one bad. Sooner or later, there will be a showdown. Who wins? Maybe there is a third possibility. There are similarities here with a classic Doctor Who episode. [Spoilers for a 35 year old show] In Destiny of the Daleks, two great machine races, the Daleks and the Movellans face each other in space for galactic supremacy. However, war does not come. Why? Each side is using advanced computer technology to calculate the perfect time to attack. But since they are so evenly matched, they are in perpetual stalemate and neither side ever fired a single shot. Is this what we will see in Machine/Samaritan: Two highly advanced AI's, in logical stalemate? Who knows. As with Doctor Who, the only way to break the impasse is with people. Humans introduce the random element that cannot be logically deduced, hence gaining an advantage. Will the ultimate showdown be Finch vs. Greer?

Hail Colossus!
