Oil well fixed with duct tape lauded as American Innovation by US Rep

Environmental activitist Noah Matson went to testify before a US congressional committee about dangerously lax standards in the oil industry when it comes to drilling in National Wildlife Reserves. As evidence, he brought along photos of a broken oil well that was patched with a garbage bag and duct tape. Horrifying, right?

Well not to Representative Vance McAllister. To Rep. McAllister, repairing the rig with duct tape and plastic is innovative. He complained that there was no pleasing environmentalists, that "we're damned if we do, and we're damned if we don't".

I wonder how the Rep. would feel if someone patched his car with duct tape and a plastic bag to keep it from "spilling liquids".http://www.cbc.ca/asithappens/fe...
