Since the 50th anniversary is fast approaching, I was wondering what everyone's first exposure to the Doctor was.
My first ever episode of Doctor Who was "Tooth and Claw". It was written by Russell T. Davies and involved David Tennant and Rose fighting a werewolf that was after Queen Victoria.
I had kind of vaguely heard of Doctor Who and while I grew up watching a lot of British television, I didn't watch Who at all. I stumbled upon it by accident when I was in college. I had just watched Firefly for the first time and was looking for a new series to dive into. I saw the episode mentioned on a steampunk site I used to frequent and decided to track it down. This was probably, like, 2006. My college had a surprisingly robust student created torrent program and I was able to find that whole season on it.
I was completely hooked (or since it was about werewolves, should I say bitten?). I stayed up all night and skipped class that day to watch all the episodes. I was in love. That night I also watched School Reunion and The Girl in the Fireplace. I didn't know anything about the show but I fell in love. I loved David Tennant, I oddly adored Rose and I just LOVED the entire weird ass show. Tennant is definitely MY doctor, even though I'm exceptionally fond of Matt Smith and Peter Davison.
So! Do you remember what your first episode was?
