Welcome, everyone, to today's bookclub! Today'spicture is of the Humbolt University Library in Berlin, one of the most advanced scientific libraries in Germany.
This week, I had to work more than I usually do and hung out with frineds all weekend so I didn't read this week. To make up for that, I'm going to tell you why you all need to read The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen. Yes, I'm going on this rant again because I feel as if you're not reading this book when you should.
The series follows Sage, a character that's one part Aladdin, 2 part Malcolm Reynolds and all around pain in the butt. God, I love him. He's so annoying but you can't help but root for him and the moment he's safe, you just want to slap him upside the head. Sage is that friend who does crazy stuff and while he's almost died about 12 times, it works. Back to the plot of the book, Sage is taken from an orphanage (by force) and is recruited to impersonate the king's long lost son, Prince Jaron and must compete against 3 other boys for the role.
Neilsen does a great job of both making the stakes high and making sure everyone knows it too. I've already read this and know what the characters will do and I'm still bracing myself every time I turn the page. It's that good. Read it!! You have to read it!
Enough about me and my nonreading, what have you been reading this week?
