So, we had a meeting at work the other day, and were told that next week the school will be engaging in an "environmental scan" where staff can let their views be known around the areas of school climate and culture. The scan is being conducted by a retired principal who will take our opinions either at face to face interview, over the phone, or as written response, who will then write a report. The process being used was created in conjunction with the teachers's and support staffs's unions.

At first, we didn't know what had triggered this, but I think I figured it out. One of my coworkers has a meeting coming up with the Principal, the Useless VP and a Union rep where apparently she is going to talk about useless VP's incompetenance, and Principal's inaction. I'm thinking it can't be a coincidence.

I don't know how I feel about this. After teaching for many years, I am quite cynical about my school board's ability to make any kind of effective change. This feels like an exercise in window dressing to me. My Principal makes all the right noises, ie : Team means "Together everyone achieves more", but in practical matters, it is his way or the highway.

I hate my job. I am at the point of burning out. If I could figure out something else to do at this stage, I would.
