Any makers here on the ODeck? Crafters in general?
I know there are a lot of people in the world who make things with their own hands and I just wanted to see if any of the ODeckers were handy. I'm not just talking about making "nerd" crafts. (There is a guy on the Geek and Sundry channel that makes the most inane "nerd" crap in existence. He has millions of views and all of his stuff looks like the craft table at summer camp.) You can be a maker of anything.
As previously stated, I deal with the world of sewing. I've been sewing for at least 20 years now and as many times as I try to take a break, end up going right back to it. A while ago, I took a book binding class and loved it. I made one book and practically forgot about it. On a sewing hiatus, I picked it up again (with the assistance of some good video tutorials) and fell in love all over again.
The whole reason I'm asking is because I just saw that someone pinned something to Pinterest, that I posted to my blog and it made me chuckle a little bit.
So, what crafts do you partake of?
This is one piece I did that I think some of you can relate to and might appreciate. It's all hand dyed cotton fabric and both the bustier and skirt are quilted. The sequins on the skirt were sewn on by hand.
