Bill Nye to "debate" climate change on SundayS

Bill Nye is apparently the new person to go to talk about scientific issues. Good work for an engineer!

Meet the Press, a Sunday morning political talk show on NBC, will feature a "debate" on climate change this Sunday, the 16th. On the side of science! will be Bill Nye, who you've heard of probably. On the side of ??? will be Representative Martha Blackburn (R-TN).

Bill Nye's knowledge on climate change is:
He has talked about it on tv a lot of times.

Martha Blackburn's knowledge on climate change is:
She once begged the question of Al Gore and implied he's interested in reducing carbon emissions so he can make money
Her campaign website advertises that, during the Copenhagen conference of 2009, wherein governments attempted to figure out emission cuts, she "fought back" against US officials who went to negotiate in earnest.
She seems really interested in making the EPA incapable of doing a job that the US Supreme Court said it has: regulating greenhouse gas emissions
Oh, and she's the Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Because of the above three things.

So, yeah. If you liked watching Bill Nye attempt to rationally discuss science with a ideologue, this Sunday you get a whole new chance.
